The project was an expansion of the existing VA Healthcare facility in Fargo, ND for the new Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and the new operating rooms. The five new operating rooms were state of the art fully digitally integrated operating rooms with electronic media controls, flat panel displays and service booms. Two of the rooms were also designed as a urology procedure space and an endovascular procedure space. MBN Engineering provided engineering design and construction phase services for the lighting and controls system, power distribution system, emergency power distribution system, fire alarm system, telecommunications cabling system and infrastructure, nurse call system, paging system, access control system and intercom systems.
Lakeland Mental Health
The project was a new building for an existing mental health provider in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The building is certified LEED Silver and the energy consumption is about half the consumption of an average office building. The building includes offices and counseling rooms with reduced sound transmission between the rooms. The mechanical systems included ground source heat pumps, energy recovery for ventilation and in-floor heating using a water-to-water heat pump. The electrical systems included lighting and controls, power distribution, telecommunications and fire alarm.
Family Healthcare Clinic
The project involved remodeling of an existing three-story building in downtown
Fargo into a new clinic. The facility included clinic exam rooms, clinical procedure
rooms, dental exam and procedure rooms, x-ray suite, office space, a wellness
center and support spaces. MBN Engineering provided engineering design
and construction phase services for the lighting and controls system, power
distribution system, generator and emergency power distribution system, fire
alarm system, telecommunications cabling system and infrastructure, nurse call
system, paging system, conference and wellness audio/visual systems and
access control system.
St. Lukes Nursing Home
The project was an 80,000 sf new construction nursing home located in Dickinson, ND. This project was completed in (3) phases to reuse the existing site and keep the facility fully operational during all phases. The mechanical systems include high efficiency condensing boilers, an air cooled chiller, and air handling units throughout the facility. The project was an almost complete replacement of the existing nursing home with a new facility. The design included extensive planning for a phased implementation as all residents needed to be accommodated during the entire course of construction. Electrical design for the facility included interior and exterior lighting and controls, power distribution systems including an emergency power generator that can power the entire facility, fire alarm system design, telecommunications infrastructure and cabling, access control and security systems design, nurse call system infrastructure and patient anti-wandering systems.
